I  MOURN WITH UDU AS HRH DELEKPE JOINS ANCESTORS 

The first of Ovie of Udu Kingdom has joined his Ancestors. 

I got to know HRH Delekpe as a lawyer who practiced law at Ginuwa Road and later moved to Warri/Sapele Road  by popular Enerhen Junction where he and one of my  closest friends and brother, Barr J.O Kpedi shared office in law practice.

Barr J.O Kpedi was in the same hall with me at Yaba Polytechnic  Lagos during our NYSC  Orientation. Then NYSC Orientation Camp ground was Yaba Polytechnic Lagos.

King Dekekpe was Barr John Kpedi's best friend, lawyer and colleague. Delekpe was a renowned Urhobo lawyer in Warri then before becoming an Udu King. 

I also got in contact with King Delekpe when I was given assignment to engage Shell host communities in the West on SCD communications and the 19 shell big rules and I was asked to meet with Aladja, Otor-Udu as host communities of which I did with my team. 

Shell had asked me to see traditional rulers before engaging the locals in town halls and I visited King Delekpe who instructed me to see the larger community of which I did. 

He was simple when I approached him for the assignment. King Delekpe was described by Barr J.O Kpedi as a kind hearted monarch.

Urhobo has lost an elite king from Udu Kingdom. A calm and intelligent king.

May God and his Ancestors grant his soul to rest in peace.
