THE NEED FOR PRESIDENT TRUMP TO ACT FAST ON COMING STRONGLY ON THOSE BEHIND THE BRUTAL KILLING OF JAMAL KHOSHOGGI IN THE INTEREST OF GLOBAL JUSTICE
For us, the apparent refusal of US President Donald Trump, to promptly and decisively act on the brutal killing of Jamal Khashoggi, and come very hard on those behind the said murder, whom the CIA investigation has pinpointed, is a complete betrayal of democracy, rule of law, right to life, human rights, global justice and free and independent press. President Trump’s disposition over this issue, only shows that the present US Government values money (economic ties with the Saudis) than the life of a human being.
Despite the fact that it is evidently clear and made public via the media, that Jamal Khashoggi, the Saudi Arabian journalist and critic, was brutally murdered in the Saudi Arabia consulate in Istanbul Turkey some weeks back, according to the recently released CIA report, I really do not know what more evidence the US Government is looking for, to have refused to act, by coming hard on the Saudi Arabia Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman. His brother, Prince Khaled bin Salman – the Saudi Ambassador to the United States -and Seventeen (17) Saudis said to have been involved in the killing of Khashoggi.
President Trump has defiled the US intelligence agencies and a growing body of evidence to declare his unswerving loyalty to Saudi Arabia, by asserting that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s culpability for the killing of Jamal Khashoggi might never be known. In a remarkable statement that appeared calculated to end the debate over the American response to the killing of Khashoggi, the US President said: “It could very well be that the Crown Prince had knowledge of this tragic event – maybe he did and maybe he didn’t! We may never know all the facts surrounding the murder of Mr. Jamal Khashoggi”, Mr. Trump added: “In any case, our relationship is with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”
The killing of Khashoggi took place in the embassy of Saudi Arabia in Turkey, which is like the Government House of Saudi Arabia in Turkey. And not even Turkey Government has the right of access to the said Consulate, without the approval of the Saudi Arabia Government. The Ambassador of the Saudi Arabia Government in Turkey is the legal representative of the Saudi Arabian Government, and all the staff of the said embassy are employed by the same embassy and no one has the authority to do anything in the embassy of another country. Khashoggi’s killing and dismemberment in the said embassy, is a valid evidence to suggest that the Saudi Government had authorized the brutal murder of Khashoggi. So, what other evidence is President Trump waiting for to act, in sanctioning the Government of Saudi Arabia?
The life of a human being can never be bought or exchanged with anything – be it gold, silver, diamond, money or economic ties between countries. And no one has the right to take/abruptly end the life of any person, without paying the price of that person’s blood here on earth or in the life hereafter. There are already many condemnations coming from different stakeholders within the US and across the globe, against the US Government’s disposition and stance over the killing of Khashoggi. We believe the US President, Mr. Donald Trump, should listen to the voice of the people and bring to book all those involved, and had authorized/ordered the killing of this social critic and journalist.
We join others to urge US President Trump to act fast on this brutal killing of Khashoggi in the Saudi Arabian embassy in Istanbul, Turkey. The whole world will be greatly disappointed if President Trump refuses to act as expected, in the weeks to come. Where is the much talked about and well-publicized American democracy, rule of law, equal rights, peace, justice, right to life and advocacy in all of this? Where is the US President’s message of making America great again, if this murder of Khashoggi is not treated fairly by US President Trump by bringing to book all those that were indicted by the CIA investigation report?
