We reflected on a concern titled 'Evidence Of How Politicians Impoverished Delta' and in reference to a trending video, Amaju Melvin Pinnick frowned at me mentioning that he, as brother inlaw to former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, amassed sudden wealth from being appointed Chairman of Delta State Sports Commission by his brother in-law.
And in response Amaju is suing me for N1Billion for perceived defamation. He has his right to run to court. However, we maintain that the instant fortune that catapulted him to National and International football management was not from his legitimate earnings but largely at the expense of Delta's commonwealth just like other public officeholders in the state and in Nigeria.
For us, his appointment as direct brother in-law to then sitting Governor Uduaghan into such a key position as Chairman of Delta State Sports Commission was sheer display of corruption already.
Today, arising from that corrupt precedence, successive governors have been appointing their siblings into that office, enriching them with blank cheques to feast on in the name of managing Delta Sports.
Uduaghan appointed Amaju Pinnick his brother in-law as Chairman of Delta State Sports Commission. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa copied with appointment of his younger sibling, Tonoboks Okowa as Chairman of Delta State Sports Commission and of course he turned instant money man, flaunting the massive looting of the state's treasury from building substandard sports facilities and begging to host sports events that added no value to the state's development.
Today incumbent Sheriff Oborevwori has appointed his younger brother, Joshua Onoriode Oborevwori to succeed Okowa's brother as Chairman of the Delta State Sports Commission.
It is clear and obvious Delta State Sports has nourished by sitting governors as one of the biggest conduit pipes among Ministries, Departments and Agencies for syphoning the commonwealth into private vaults. It has been turned into a family business for any sitting governor. It is turn by turn.
Amaju Pinnick should hide his face in shame. Who was Amaju Pinnick before 1999? How did he make his fame and fortune? From which business? In a normal situation Amaju Pinnick should have hidden his face and quietly go to enjoy his loots without bragging about it.
I challenge Amaju Pinnick to publish his bank details and net worth between 1999 till date? I challenge Amaju Pinnick to publish his bank details and net worth in five years preceding 1999. I challenge Amaju Pinnick to declare his assets before 1999 publicly.
I challenge Amaju Pinnick to declare his pay slips throughout his tenure as Chairman of Delta State Sports Commission? I challenge Amaju Pinnick to declare his pay slips during his tenure as 1st Vice President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and Board member of the International De Football Association(FIFA) and as President of Nigerian Football Federation (NFF).
Amaju Pinnick, you can't intimidate me with lawsuits. I will never succumb to your intimidation, threat of N1Billion lawsuit. They say those who live in glass house shouldn't throw stone. And as the lawyer would say 'He who comes to equity must come with clean hands'.
I mean it in every sense of it that Delta state has not been lucky with governors since 1999. Delta state is grossly impoverished by Delta politicians. The huge revenue accrued to Delta is enough to have turned Delta to Dubai-UAE and Doha- Qatar.
Delta can't boast of durable road network. Delta can't boast of world class stadium that was built under you as Chairman of Delta State Sports Commission under Uduaghan's administration. We have not forgotten how you Amaju and your in-law governor wasted billions of the state's funds to build a substandard Warri Township Stadium that got rejected to host FIFA Under-17 Tournament in 2009.
We have not forgotten. The FIFA Inspection Team that came to meet a heavily flooded, substandard stadium, cancelled Delta's bid to co-host while other stadia built at far less costs were chosen in other parts of the country.
We have not forgotten. Individuals and groups, including the Warri Ijaw Peace Monitoring Group (WIPMG) challenged the Delta State Government under your brother in- law's watch, to probe the circumstances that led to FIFA’s rejection of Warri Township Stadium. Of course your brother inlaw intentional provided you the cover to loot, so probe was out of his mind. You rather cooked the propaganda that Delta was rejected for insecurity.
Amaju Pinnick, I am not scared of your intimidation. You know very well that you accumulated massive wealth under Emmanuel Uduaghan your in-law as Chairman of Delta State Sports Commission. Since Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan left government of Delta, every governor has had to plant his brother as Chairman of Delta State Sports Commission. It is an open secret.
Suit yourself with your lawsuits to intimidate me. Every Delta governor now plants his family member as Chairman of Delta State Sports Commission? What is so special in the Delta government's department of Sports? You should be in position to tell the Deltan people. You set the precedence.
No human being can stop me from advocating for good governance of Delta and Nigeria. Amaju Pinnick the good things of life you see in Qatar, Dubai, New York, Paris, London, Amsterdam, Toronto, are they forbidden in Delta and Nigeria?
Why are you intoxicated with arrogance, threatening me with law suit simply because I dared to speak truth to power, that Delta politicians impoverished Deltans by living off the commonwealth, including you who gained fame and fortune as Chairman of Delta State Sports Commission which is too glaring for any person to see through.
What Sports administrator are you, Amaju Pinnick? You were at the last World Cup. You saw the LUSAIL STADIUM built for the Qatar event. Imagine if you were in charge of building it. Then I can imagine how it would have ended, in fiasco.
Does any politician since 1999 in Nigeria merit national award? Nigeria is the only country I know where pubic thieves are celebrated.
According to Michael Akpobome Egi, "Rubbish. They would not only have to prove malicious intent, but must be prepared to face intense discovery efforts. Pinnick as a public official must be ready to open his stewardship as Delta FA Chairman and NFF President to public scrutiny"
