RE - BREWING CRISIS IN OKPARE OLOMU COMMUNITY: INVITATION FOR A MEETING

YOU CAN'T BUILD PEACE OUTSIDE OKPARE COMMUNITY

In my discussions with you yesterday you branded yourself Chief Peacemaker of Delta.

And in receipt of your invitation to Okpare Community leaders to appear before you tomorrow Monday 6th January 2025 in your office in Asaba, I'm compelled to express some reservations whether you are deserving of the self glorifying title of Chief Peacemaker.

I'm afraid if you have the moral justification to summon parties in this Okpare matter from the comfort zone that is in your Asaba office.

Which conflict do you want to resolve now in Okpare? Where were you when -

√ Political officeholders under your Principal, Gov Oborevwori's administration induced Army to invade Okpare Community and occupied the community.

√ Umolo District Customary Court authority was induced to engage in a  miscarriage of justice by issuing a prejudiced Interim Order it has no jurisdiction to issue just to unjustly arrest law abiding community leaders.

√ After I intervened on the military authority to vacate  Okpare Town, Police were drafted in by the orders of the partisan Ughelli LG Chairman to make indiscriminate arrest of some community leaders , with one victim shot on the foot and took them to be detained in the Delta Police Command Headquarters, Asaba.

√ I again intervened, equipped with sheer facts of the Okpare crisis, ensuring that those detained in Delta State Police  headquarters in Asaba were released unconditionally?

So, after the dust has settled, what peacemaking are you trying to make by summoning these victims of the crisis to your comfort zone in Asaba.

They were detained in Asaba, you were not aware or didn't care. Now you want them to come back, at whose expense.

MY ADVICE:

If you mean well on the belated peacemaking to claim undeserved glory, you cannot be inviting people to Asaba. You can't resolve the Okpare conflict outside Okpare.

Please make yourself available and visit Okpare Community on the 6th January, 2025. Every meeting and building of peace in Okpare should take place in Okpare-Olomu.

We are putting a detail review and position on the Okpare crisis and the role government and its agencies play in inducing crisis in Delta communities.

This slack peace building was why Okuama crises snowballed intp killing of soldiers, Okuama people and burning down of Okuama community.

You were no where to be found in Okpare when it mattered most and you now  wait in your office comfort in Asaba to be issuing invitation and orders.

That is not the way to go. That is why you enjoy the big name of Chief Peacemaker but there is crisis in all senatorial districts of Delta.

You need a change of modalities.
