KEYAMO AS MINISTER OF THE YEAR: WHY I WON'T JOIN THE CHEERING CROWD
Aviation Minister, Festus Keyamo has been glorified as minister of the year, by what criteria, by which credible awarding platform, I don't care.
I will not join the hysteria his cheerleaders are creating by the exaggerated value they are promoting over this petty self glorifying recognition.
Again call me a tribalist Urhoboman for all I care, but I would only start paying attention when Keyamo's stewardship starts finding significant expression in Urhoboland.
Keyamo boasted weeks after he was assigned minister that President Bola Tinubu had approved N2Billion for expansion of Osubi-Warri Airport runway.
Why in our response at the time, we did say N2Billion was grossly inadequate to satisfactorily upgrade the Osubi facility, we also urged that better than nothing, Keyamo should waste no time in activating the presidential approval to get contractors to site to execute the upgrade worth the approved budget.
Few days to 2025, Minister Keyamo is busy about the country, but has kept works on expansion of Osubi Airport in the cooler. Is it not shameful that Keyamo is not living to his past promises on expansion of Osubi runway?
Osubi airport is the only airport he uses when coming to Effurun GRA Delta state home. Keyamo doesn't need hesitation to do what is expected of him to expand Osubi airport runway. If he doesn't do it then who does he expect to do it?
I have taken on this matter for a long time. Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is from Osubi and Keyamo is from a neighbouring Effrurun, few munites drive apart.
They both have the opportunity to join forces in realising the overdue upgrade of the Osubi tarmac/runway.
History will not forgive them if they fail to do the needful.
