END BAD GOVERNANCE PROTEST LONG OVER DUE
Politicians have taken for granted the anger of the people. They believe they can do as they like with impunity.
Bad governance is as a result of imposition of political leaders on the people by INEC, State Electoral Commissions at the local, states and national levels.
If votes should count politicians will deliver on campaign promises and party manifestos to be in power. 'End IMPOSITION OF POLITICAL LEADERS' should be the title of the protest.
When leaders are not imposed on the people there shall be good governance. The politicians should know the consequences of imposition of leaders on the people. There should be consequences for bad governance.
Poverty, unemployment has forced the best brains to flee the country and more are still fleeing from Nigeria and other African countries. Agreed home is the best but shall the people live in abject poverty while the political class/elites are sharing the commonwealth of the nation?
Times are hard for the people except politicians, their families, hangers-on and 'fronts'. Should we continue like this in a country that has abundance of what makes a country to be great like US, UK, Russia, China, France.
The easiest way to instant wealth now is to grab political office at all costs. Empty brains with capacity for violence is the qualification for grabbing political power in Nigeria and become rich overnight.
Why are the politicians panicking for end to bad governance protest? The end bad governance protest is a warning to every Nigerian politician and not to only President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The people have been taken for a ride since 1999 till date. The overnight billionaires in Delta state today, for instance, were poor people who could hardly feed but today they have become so important and rich with mansions in Abuja, Lagos, UK, US, Canada just by grabbing public offices.
We know all of them who stole to become rich and significant. This end bad governance protest is early warning to all politicians in Nigeria from the local, states to the national levels. The people know them and they can't hide.
Politicians shouldn't push the will of the people and I advise all Nigerian politicians to go and read the causes of the French Revolution and its impacts in Europe. The French Revolution started 5th May 1789 to 9th November 1799.
As described by Britannica.com, "The French Revolution was a period of major social upheaval that began in 1787 and ended in 1799. It sought to completely change the relationship between the rulers and those they governed and to redefine the nature of political power."
And as explained by mg.co.uk, "In the late 18th Century France was on the brink of bankruptcy due to its involvement in the American Revolution and King Louis XVI's extravagant spending. This led to a people's revolt against the inequalities of French society, corruption of royal officials and despair owing to widespread economic hardship."
I warn Nigerian politicians not to take the people for granted and call selves to order. No one placed guns on them to seek to be supposedly elected or seek for appointments or accept offer of appointments. There shouldn't be any excuse to use public wealth as personal wealth.
The easiest means to wealth is to be in government. This is bad and they should know that there are consequences. Bad governance is also promoting hoodlums in the Nigerian society.
The said protests are being hijacked by hoodlums. The hoodlums and 'area boys' are also boys of the so-called politicians who arm them during elections for violence. In absence of good governance hoodlums are rewarded.
They hire them to engage in violence of any kinds. The lawlessness we see in the country should be blamed on politicians who impose selves on the people. While I condemn any violent protest we should also hold the politicians responsible for every failure in the country.
When politicians deliberately promote miscreants for their selfish interests of sticking to power then we should expect break down of law and order.
Hoodlums breaking into shops during these protests are caused by politicians. When politicians in power hire hoodlums for counter protests, what do you expect to happen?
