ASARI'S PRIVATE ARMY: NO MORE EXCUSE AGAINST STATE POLICE

Asari Dokubo has openly admitted that he has an illegal private military company in Nigeria. In the first instance why should the Federal Government register his private military company?

I know private individuals can register security companies to man access to private companies and individuals homes and not a private military company that uses military weapons.

For years there has been lingering agitations that states should have state police but that has always been rejected on grounds that Nigerian is not advanced enough to bear the consequences because they believe that states will misuse the state police to intimidate opposition parties and members.

And now an individual in a country like Nigeria with many insecurity problems have gotten licence to own a private military company.

Is federal government saying that the Nigerian military is weak hence it has contracted its military operations to Asari Dokubo a known Niger Delta militant to handle?

Asari Dokubo's appearance in the Presidential Chambers to address press conference in the presence of the Military, Police, DSS and President Bola Tinubu is no longer a secret. Asari is now a recognised owner and chief executive officer of a military company. Asari has licence to operate his military company.

Asari Dokubo openly admitted on Channels TV during his interview with Seun Okinbaloye that he owns a military company in Nigeria and has been hired to fight insurgents and Boko Haram in Nigeria. Agreed there are military companies in other countries which Asari mentioned in that interview.

It has been openly said that the Nigerian Military, Police, DSS has no capacity to fight insecurity in Nigeria hence Asari Dokubo is hired to fight Boko Haram and all other violent crimes.

If Asari Dokubo can own a private army in Nigeria then what is wrong in states of Nigeria owning their military companies, police companies and secret police services since Federal Government has failed to fight insecurity in Nigeria?

I don't think there is no section of Nigerian constitution that allows an individual to own a private army.

I think it is time to allow every state to own their own military, police and secret police services since individuals can be allowed to have military companies like Asari Dokubo.

If Wagner is operating in Russia and Belarus, it is within their laws. In Nigerian no law that allows individuals to own armouries and military companies. It is no longer a secret that there are parallel military organisations in Nigeria with the revelations by Asari.

Nigeria is a country with multiple violent crimes as killing by unknown gun men, kidnapping, bombings by suicide bombers, armed robberies, Fulani herdsmen killings of rural dwellers and farmers, armed invasion of villages by terrorists and all sorts of violent crimes where we have security operatives like the military, police and DSS.

Are federal government, DSS, Military and Police not bothered about the source of the wealth of Asari Dokubo? Is the FGN, DSS, Military and Police bothered about the sources of Asari's armouries that his supposed military company is now using to fight insurgencies, terrorists, bandits, Boko Haram, Fulani herdsmen killing and unknown gun men killings?

President Bola Tinubu and the National Assembly should give every state the right to own their state military, police and secret police if Asari Dokubo could own his armouries and private military company in my opinion.

The federal government is not bothered about the sources weapons/armouries by terrorists, herdsmen, unknown gun men and militants.
